Former University of South Carolina track star Terrence Trammell won the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix 110 m hurdles yesterday.  He defeated China’s national hero, Liu Xiang,  in a photo finish in front of Xiang’s home crowd.

You may remember Liu Xiang from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.  Xiang was unable to run due to an achilles injury, devastating his fans in China.

Terrence suffered a hamstring injury in the 2008 Beijing Olympics which ended his gold medal hopes.  Sunday’s race was a classic for the two rivals, both of which are now healthy.

Liu and Terrence both crossed the line at 13.15 seconds but the photo images showed Trammell crossing the line first.
